When: Thursday, 13th July 2023, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Location: Western Sydney Startup Hub – 5 Fleet Street, North Parramatta, NSW

Pitch for Good presents five inspiring social entrepreneurs pitching their new ideas for social enterprises that they hope to establish in Parramatta.

The participants have been given training to create an engaging crowdfunding campaign on StartSomeGood to raise funds and garner support to help get their project off the ground.

Instead of giving all the decision-making power to a panel of judges, Pitch for Good will allow member of the audience to select their favourites and donate the value of your $30 ticket to their project.  The winner will then benefit from having their funds doubled by the sponsorship partners.

This on-and off-line combination of campaigning for their impact project helps the pitch contestants overcome the greatest challenge in crowdfunding – how to get the early traction which validates their idea and carries their story far enough to succeed.

In addition to the pitches there will be stalls run by local social enterprises and food included in the ticket price.

The participants who will be pitching their social impact projects on the night:

  • Sally Irwin – The Freedom Hub on a mission to end modern slavery.  Raising funds for a Parramatta HQ
  • Joe Kwon – CONFIT – supporting ex-convicts to follow a career in personal training as a way to rebuild their life.  Raising funds for the launch of a CONFIT gym in Parramatta.
