Impact Investing Australia’s new Impact Deal Tracker has published more than $3 billion in impact investing commitments in the last month alone – highlighting the growth and diversification of impact investments in and from Australia. As the country’s most comprehensive platform for verified impact investing commitments, with over 100 published to-date, the Tracker makes it easier than ever for institutional investors, foundations, government agencies, intermediaries and private capital providers to find, explore and compare investments across type, asset class, area of impact and value.
The latest impact investing commitments to be added to the Tracker include:
- Australian Retirement Trust invests in Macquarie Green Energy and Climate Opportunities Fund
Australian Retirement Trust has committed US$650 million to Macquarie’s fund, marking its first reported impact investment. The Macquarie fund focuses on clean energy projects in developed markets, with the dual aim of generating strong financial returns for members and contributing to climate solutions. - Scale Investors Venture Capital Fund I
Scale Investors has raised $26 million for its first venture capital fund, targeting a total fund size of $100 million. The fund, backed by the children of the late Carla Zampatti, the Minderoo Foundation and the Thickins Family Office, exclusively invests in female-led businesses, with eligibility criteria requiring at least one woman founder to hold equal equity and a C-suite role. - Atmos Renewables Investment Round
Atmos Renewables has secured around $400 million from investors, including Cbus Super, AMP Capital and MLC Australia. The capital will support projects such as the Hornsdale wind farm in South Australia. Atmos owns a 1.5 GW portfolio of operational and in-development assets across 18 sites, supported by long-term revenue contracts with investment-grade partners. - AXA IM Alts Affordable Housing Development
AXA IM Alts has acquired a prime development site on Melbourne’s Adderley Street, secured under its Australian Build-to-Rent affordable housing strategy – and its first in Victoria. The site will be developed into a circa 100-unit mixed residential scheme, combining market and affordable rental housing. It’s the second such investment for AXA IM Alts, with a 400-unit project in Sydney’s Westmead due for completion later this year.
“Our Impact Deal Tracker is a valuable resource for investors and this latest round of investments highlights the growing momentum of impact investing,” said David Hetherington, CEO of Impact Investing Australia.
Whether your focus is affordable housing, renewable energy, Indigenous enterprise, health and aged care, sustainable agriculture or beyond, the Tracker provides up-to-date data across a range of impact opportunities, with a user-friendly interface and powerful search and filter functions.
“By making high-quality, verified impact investing commitments more accessible, we aim to support and drive the sector’s growth, and help connect capital at scale to initiatives that deliver strong returns alongside positive social or environmental outcomes,” David added.
